Entry Grade (EG) kits are the absolute best for begginers. They're cheap, super simple to build, and easy to find. Of course, the trade off is flatter colors, blocky shapes, and worse color separation. I highly recommend one of these if you're just starting off!

High Grade (HG) kits are a step up from entry grades. They are the most common and basic grade of Gunpla, and they come in a huge price range and variety of characters. These are great if you're ready to up your Gunpla game.
Average kit price: $10-100+

the real grade logo

Real Grade (RG) kits are made to look as realistic as possible. These are probably the Gunpla you will see most collecters build. They're harder to assemble and have smaller parts, but they often have great color separation and details.
Average kit price: $30-50+

the master grade logo

As suggested in the name, Master Grade kits are meant for experienced builders. They are more complex and much larger. If you think a HG kit is tough, you should practice more before you pick up one of these!
