- Side cutters to cut the parts off the runner (I use these)
- A sharp craft knife to clean the parts
- Different grits of sandpaper, also for cleaning parts
- Tweezers to apply decals
- Gundam markers or other panel liners
- Tamiya paints and paint thinner for adding details
How do I build these?
After choosing a kit, you have to actually build it! Gunpla kits come in a simple snap-together structure with an instruction book included. The pieces are molded on a plastic runner, and you will have to cut and clean them yourself. Fortunately, many of the plastic pieces are pre-colored, so you don't need to worry about paint just yet!
What tools do I need?
Some kits boast their ability to be built without tools. I'm here to tell you that building any kit without tools is a bad idea! Luckily, the basic tools used in Gunpla building are usually inexpensive and easy to come by.
