After choosing a kit, you have to actually build it! Gunpla kits come in a simple snap-together structure with an instruction book included. The pieces are molded on a plastic runner, and you will have to cut and clean them yourself. Fortunately, many of the plastic pieces are pre-colored, so you don't need to worry about paint just yet!
What tools do I need?
Some kits boast their ability to be built without tools. I'm here to tell you that building any kit without tools is a bad idea! Luckily, the basic tools used in Gunpla building are usually inexpensive and easy to come by.
Side cutters to cut the parts off the runner (I use these)
A sharp craft knife to clean the parts
Different grits of sandpaper, also for cleaning parts
Tweezers to apply decals
Gundam markers or other panel liners
Tamiya paints and paint thinner for adding details
